Add and redeem marketing bonuses like dollars off or custom discounts using OneShop integrated with Lightspeed R.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

🎁 1. What Are Bonuses in OneShop?

Bonuses are promotional incentives—like discounts or rewards—that are attached to a marketing message (broadcast or automation) in OneShop.

Use cases:

  • 🎉 Birthday discounts

  • 💎 VIP customer perks

  • 🛍 Win-back campaigns

📝 2. Creating a Bonus in a Campaign

Steps:

  1. Go to Broadcasts or Automations.

  2. Create a Basic or Advanced Broadcast.

  3. In the campaign builder, look for the “Bonus” section.

💸 3. Bonus Types

🔹 Dollar Amount Bonus (Auto-applied in Lightspeed R)

  • Example: $5 Off

  • Select “Dollar amount” and enter the value.

  • This will automatically deduct from the ticket in Lightspeed R when redeemed.

🔹 Custom Bonus (Manual in Lightspeed R)

  • Example: 10% off VIP Discount

  • Use this for promotions that aren’t tied to a preset coupon or require custom handling.

  • Must be manually applied by staff at the register in Lightspeed R.

  • Great for:

    • “Free gift with purchase”

    • “Buy one, get one”

    • Percentage discounts not yet coupon-coded

⚠️ Coupons Integration Coming Soon: Once available, you’ll be able to sync discounts directly with Lightspeed’s native coupon system.

📆 4. Setting Validity Dates

  • Choose Start Date and End Date for the bonus.

  • Determines how long the reward is valid after the message is received.

🛒 5. Redeeming Bonuses in Lightspeed R

⚙️ Steps to Redeem:

  1. Add the customer to the ticket (via tablet or manual search).

  2. Add at least one item to the ticket.

  3. Tap the OneShop button in Lightspeed R.

  4. You’ll see:

    • 🎁 Bonuses from OneShop

    • 💳 Rewards from loyalty programs

  5. Tap Redeem next to the bonus.

If Bonus Is:

  • Dollar amount → Automatically applies to the ticket.

  • Custom → You must manually apply the discount in Lightspeed:

    • Use preset discounts or adjust prices manually.

🧠 Pro Tips:

  • Name your bonuses clearly (e.g., “$5 Birthday Bonus”) for both staff and customer clarity.

  • Use different bonus types for different campaigns: e.g., birthdays, reactivation, VIP appreciation.

  • Track bonus usage directly in OneShop to prevent double claims.
