1. What Are Bonuses?
Bonuses in OneShop are promotions or rewards automatically added to a customer’s account when they receive a broadcast or automation message.
They appear on the customer-facing tablet and within their profile, helping drive in-store conversion.
2. Where Bonuses Apply
Channel | How It Applies |
Broadcasts | Sent to everyone in the targeted or filtered list. |
Automations | Sent to individuals when they meet specific conditions and triggers in real-time. |
3. Types of Bonuses
🟩 Dollar Amount
Example: $5 off
Automatically applied at checkout if using supported POS integrations (e.g., Shopify, Heartland, Lightspeed).
You can customize the label shown to customers (e.g., “$5 off on purchases of $100”).
Note: POS doesn’t enforce conditions like minimum spend; train staff to verify manually.
🟦 Coupon (POS Integrated)
Currently available for Heartland, with Lightspeed R coming soon.
Connects directly to your POS coupons or discounts.
Choose a pre-created POS coupon and rename it for customer visibility.
Automatically applied at checkout via POS when redeemed.
🟨 Custom Reward
Used for manual redemptions, e.g., “Buy One Get One Free.”
No backend enforcement—staff must manually apply the reward in POS.
Ideal when dollar amount or coupon doesn’t fit the promotion.
4. Setting Bonus Expiration
🕓 For Broadcasts:
Set a specific start and end date/time.
Once the broadcast is sent, the bonus is only active during this window.
⏳ For Automations:
Set the bonus to expire X days after it's sent (e.g., “Expires in 7 days”).
Useful since automation messages are triggered continuously over time.
5. Customer Experience
Customers will see their bonus when checking in on tablets or during profile lookups.
The label you set is what they see (e.g., “$10 off – Holiday Reward”).
6. Staff Guidelines
For auto-applied bonuses, staff needs to verify the reward was used.
For manual bonuses, ensure team is trained on applying them in POS properly.
