How to Customize and Manage Automations in OneShop

Fine-tune your OneShop automations with advanced triggers, delays, bonuses, and messaging flows.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

1. Access Your Existing Automation

  • Go to the Automations tab in OneShop.

  • Click into the automation you want to customize.

  • Use the Publish/Unpublish toggle at the top to control whether it’s active.

2. Update Basic Automation Info

  • Title – Rename to make the automation easier to identify.

  • Sender Name – This is what email recipients will see (e.g., your store name).

  • Sender Email Address – Adjust if needed, though it’s usually pre-set during setup.

3. Understand Triggers and Conditions

  • Trigger – Defines what starts the automation (e.g., First Sale).

  • Conditions – Further refine who qualifies by adding filters such as:

    • Assigned staff

    • Sold by associate

    • Last sale amount or date

    • Store location

    • Specific product SKU

    • Loyalty status or rewards

  • Click Add Conditions to set and Edit Conditions to adjust later.

4. Build Message Sequences

  • Message Delay – Time between trigger and when the message sends (e.g., 1 day after first sale).

  • Message Type – Choose from:

    • Text or Email – Prioritize text if opted in, else email.

    • Email Only

    • Text Only

  • Customize the Message:

    • Write your SMS.

    • Click Edit Email to enter the email designer and tailor your HTML email.

    • Add images or product links as needed.

5. Add and Manage Bonuses

  • Use Add Bonus to attach a promotion to a message.

    • Choose from Cash Back, Coupon (for POS-integrated systems), or Custom Reward.

    • Set the bonus duration (e.g., valid for 7 days).

  • Note: Bonuses remain active for the duration set. If the next message is sent within that window, you don’t need to add another.

6. Clone Messages for Follow-ups

  • Click Clone to create a second (or third, etc.) message.

  • Adjust the delay based on the previous message (not the original trigger).

    • E.g., Message 1 = 7 days after sale, Message 2 = 30 days after Message 1.

  • Add new bonuses only if previous ones have expired.

7. Automation Exit Rules

Customers are removed from the flow when they:

  • Make a purchase, or

  • Reply to an email or text.

This ensures you’re not over-communicating or sending outdated offers.

8. Finalize and Launch

  • Use Save Draft to keep changes without publishing.

  • Click Publish when ready to activate or resume the automation.

Repeat the above steps to build multiple automation flows tailored to different customer behaviors and triggers.
