1. Understand Broadcast Drafts
When you create a new Basic or Advanced broadcast, it starts in draft mode.
You can save your draft as you go to avoid losing any progress.
If you no longer need the draft, click Delete Draft to remove it from your OneShop account.
2. Add Required Information Before Testing
Before sending a test, ensure your message setup is complete.
For example:
If you're sending an email, you must add a subject line.
To do this:
Scroll down to the email section.
Add your subject (e.g., “In-Store Event This Weekend”).
Click Save at the top.
3. Send a Test Message
Once your draft is complete:
Click the Test button at the top of the page.
Enter your email address and/or phone number to receive the test.
You can add multiple contacts (e.g., teammates) to test across devices.
To remove any entries, click the trash can icon next to them.
Then:
Click Send Test to send your message preview.
A confirmation message will appear once it's been sent successfully.
4. What to Expect from Your Test
Tests typically arrive within a few minutes.
Merge fields (like
{{firstName}}) will appear blank in test messages since no actual customer data is connected during tests.
For example, a test message with a merge field may read:
“Hey ___, we’re having an in-store event this weekend!”
This is normal. In the actual broadcast, customer names will fill in automatically.
5. Make Final Adjustments
After reviewing your test:
Edit your message if needed (text, email, images, rewards, etc.)
Save your changes.
Once everything looks good, you’re ready to send or schedule your broadcast.
