Guide to Customer Check-In on OneShop Tablet

Guide customers to check in via OneShop's tablet and connect them to your POS system with ease.

Updated over 2 months ago

1. Enter the Phone Number on the Tablet

  • The customer begins by typing their phone number on the tablet’s number pad.

  • This is the primary method for checking in.

2. New Customer? Create a Profile

  • If the customer is new, they will be prompted to create a profile.

  • This profile is synced directly with your POS (Shopify, Heartland, or Lightspeed).

3. Fill Out Profile Details

  • The form will include fields configured with your OneShop team. These may include:

    • Phone Number (always recommended)

    • Email

    • Birthday

    • Anniversary

    • First Name

    • Last Name

  • Fields can be marked as required, optional, or hidden—depending on your preferences.

4. Complete the Profile and Continue

  • After entering the necessary details, the customer taps “Continue”.

  • This directs them to their Loyalty Page, showing current point balance and reward progress.

5. Check Connection Status

  • On the customer-facing screen, observe the “Finish” button:

    • If it’s grayed out, the terminal isn’t connected.

      • On integrated POS systems: ensure a ticket is open.

      • On non-integrated systems: ensure Cashier View is active on the staff-facing side.

  • Once connected, the customer can tap “Finish” to exit the check-in flow, or it will time out and reset to the start.

6. Returning Customers Skip Profile Creation

  • Existing customers will bypass the profile form and go directly to the loyalty summary screen.
